We have a winner!

The day has FINALLY arrived. You have all waited so patiently! I got the last batch of tickets from a friend who was also selling tickets for me for the Flat Screen TV giveaway and was able to add the entries. I had to wait until I got to my office so the drawing could be done by someone who is impartial and... well, not six years old. MSgt Derrick Dash, from the Public Health office did not participate in the drawing and is not six, so I asked him to pull the winning ticket.

Congratulations to Amber Gager! You're the lucky winner! Contact me and we will make arrangements for you to retrieve your prize.

Thank you everyone for your participation in this fundraiser. I appreciate so much the kindness you have all shown. It means a lot that you would all be a part of this adoption.

Adoption Process Update...

I'm sure you've all been wondering where we are in the process. Currently, the bulk of my dossier is in country and being translated. There are a couple of documents I am waiting on here that were requested after the dossier was received. Because every case is different, sometimes there are requests for more information. So, we are waiting patiently.

An anonymous friend sent me a reminder not long ago as an encouragement as I wait on God to see this adoption through. I have chosen to focus on the passage included with the reminder knowing that God is in control and that He will be glorified through this adoption, through no credit to any person involved. This sweet girl is to be a gift to my family, a blessing and a joy. It is my desire that the attitude of my heart be one of contentment and submission. I do not fear delays because I know that each turn taken in this process contributes to the alignment of His plan. There is no safer place than in the center of His will. Please pray for me as I wait patiently on the Lord.

Here is the reminder I received:

21 Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What are these stones?' 22 then you shall let your children know, saying, 'Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land'; 23 for the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, 24 that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever." Joshua 4:21-24

So, if you happen to see me on a bad day, and my faith seems a little shaky, please just remind me of Joshua 4. ... that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that I may fear the LORD my God forever...
